CN 1501 Track Geometry Car at Greenfield

by on 2010/11/29

This is a 1958 Budd RDC {Rail Diesel Car}. It was originally with CN passenger services, transferred to VIA Rail, then finally back to CN and converted to a track geometry car. It measures all sorts of track parameters. This was its first appearance in the area since CN reacquired the Renfrew, Beachburg and Vankleek lines.

It basically measures numerous track properties like alignment and condition.
