I bought this unit to replace one of the plastic 8 gallon oil drain containers. The unit arrived mostly assembled and final assembly was a snap. The unit looks well built and I’ve used it once. Just waiting to fill up so I can see how the oil removal process goes…..much better than the old way. Overall, very pleased with the design and construction of the unit. Shipper beat it up a little…but not enough to send it back. I’d say a good buy.

Summary:
At less than half the price of more professional-grade models, I found this to be a great deal. If I had an extra $300 laying around, I’d have sprung it to get a better one with better attention to fit and finish. But at $130 shipped, I have absolutely no regrets about this purchase.

Details:
The item came well packaged. Kudos because they DID include a roll of teflon tape (saving me a trip to my local hardware store). The assembly instructions suffered a little in their translation into English, but did get me through the job. The drain came already assembled to step 3 or 4, which wasted a little of my time while I searched for the presumed-missing parts. During assembly, I had to clean threads of bad powdercoating or mold imperfections in 2 places – mostly at the top which should have no impact. Based on 1 truck oil change, the drain seems to be working leak free. I only have about 7 quarts in it. I do worry about leakage once it gets into the gallons range and there is more pressure on the threaded assemblies that I had to de-burr and de-booger to get the thing together.
