@trloyalist, i am not a real pilot just a flight sim pilot and i agree with you about assymetrical thrust…i have tried to simulate engine failures on twin engine, and it is indeed very difficult to get out of a single-engine power failure close to the ground. dead foot-dead pedal (i.e. apply opposite rudder, feathering the dead engine, etc requires time for the plane to react)…FAA clowns still haven’t made the automatic control system( patented) for multi-engines mandatory. FAA is a failure
Business deal gone bad in the plane….
Mmmmm I smell something burning…
@mbleek2001, u sir are NOT sensing correctly, u do not understand what i wrote, where in the world are u coming up with threat? did i ever threaten u? NO I DIDN’T so why is your mind perceving something not there. Again i don’t think u should talk since u don’t fully understand english, WHERE did i suggest there is no solution? NO WHERE, so don’t start saying untrue things and accusing people falsely that’s WRONG. Instead of trying to change my attitude look at yourself and what you’re doing
I am sensing you are demanding me to you give answers with a hint of threat. You just proven my point about feeling hopeless by suggesting there is no solution, with your BAU attitude. One thing I am working on right now is if you haven’t noticed is trying to change your attitude. As Gandhis famously said “be the change you want to see” so i suggest you change ur attitude 1st. From there change ur family then community, then we as a nation will develop new solutions to change the world.
Would the operating costs increase for the massive shipping vessels currently running off bunker fuel, a byproduct of the world’s massive petroleum habit? Because I’m thinking if the US shifted to all electric cars and without people buying gasoline (in effect subsidizing their own job outsourcing) the cheap and very dirty fuel byproduct wouldn’t be available for use to cheaply ship to here foreign goods.
You know what else could’ve been a factor in the crash? The US Gov’t just invested in GM and the new Tesla S all electric would kill GM.
x4167, I was merely speaking from experience as a pilot. There are a limited number of things that can go wrong on takeoff, and knowing whether you’re in IMC/VMC, the type and category of plane, and the experience of the pilot, you can eliminate a lot. No, I wasn’t in the cockpit with Doug that day. But I promise you that the conspiracy kooks in this thread were not either, and I doubt any of them are pilots who know what they’re talking about.
@trloyalist maybe you need your head examined, being that you were not there, you are in no position to say what really happened.
Do u have a solution? let’s hear your plan to change BAU and get rid of corrupt governments or r u just pointing fingers at me? and i want to hear everything you’ve done so far to try and stop this corruption.
@JamesMorlan. looooooooool. i love your comment. You are right only fools rush in, but conspiracy theorists have seen enough cover ups and heard enough lies, so whenever anythings like this happens their suspicions shoots up.
Well I don’t see you bringing a solution but rather pointing fingers and saying its business as usual. Corrupt governments or kings love their subjects to have your kind of attitude, doing nothing and feeling hopeless. You forget that all powers lies in the hands of the people.
Well I was born in Africa, my dad experienced colonialism, so I also have a good perspective. My point was citizens of western countries
have done nothing on their part(most of them) to stop the evils their govt. was doing to so many around the world. Simply because it didn’t
effect their comfortable life’s directly. Since it happened in their watch and did nothing now their govt. is bold enough to slaughter its own
citizens. We can do a whole lot, but are we willing to risk everything.
@SharkDude1 The ‘other’ crash was a terrorist attack, but the guy wasn’t trying to terrorize you or me… he was letting the government know he’d had enough. ps if you really wanna know watch The Century Of Self, listen to everyone and read everything but believe nothing unless you prove it in your own research.
2xtream, actually yes I know something about flying because I’m a pilot, based out of KSQL. I fly into KPAO all the time, I’m intimately familiar with the approach and departure procedures for KPAO airfield, and I knew the pilot who was flying the 310. The loss of his life is tragic. He was a very experienced pilot and had ratings for SEL, SES, and rotorcraft, and over 2000 hours. He knew what he was doing, was a good man, and he will be missed. I stand by my earlier comments.
The great thing about AP news is, they just report the news,
Unlike the Network Media, who ALWAYS try and make a simple plane crash story into a “Was it a Terriost attack?” Damn Network Medais sucks! Why do you people even watch that crap anymore?
Planes crash, Cars Crash, Busses Crash. Welcome to Reality.
@trloylist: Who said anything about flying lamebrain I said this will probably in short time prove not to an accident… I don’t care weather or not the pilot was landing, taking off or playing videos games… Did you enter this conversation in the attempt to try and prove you know that area and will attempt to say you know something about flying? You need to go back to bed kid things like this are over your head.
Anyone who thinks anything fishy is going on here needs their head examined. This unfortunate accident is a result of something wrong with the plane, coupled with the challenges of staying in the power curve during takeoff. There is no conspiracy.
Hewesredfisher16, you’re wrong. The Cessna 310 is a twin engine plane with a standard configuration: one prop on the left, one on the right. Is anyone really surprised that *you* have never heard of one crashing due to engine trouble? You also apparently have never been in a twin-engine plane. when one goes out, the asymmetrical thrust makes staying ahead of the power curve extremely difficult upon takeoff or during landing. This is just flying 101. Don’t take my word for it: look it up.
2xtream, the fact that you don’t know whether the airplane was taking off or landing from/at KPAO demonstrates that you know absolutely nothing about aviation. From the location of the wreckage it is absolutely clear what direction the plane was heading when something went wrong: the initial heading was 310, and a few seconds later something happened that prevented the pilot from turning to the standard IFR (060) departure heading. You should stop spouting nonsense while you’re able.
Your comments make no sense whatsoever. The flight IFR, wings cannot be ejected, and the location of the crash was not in the standard IFR departure path, which is to turn to 060 after takeoff from runway 31 out of KPAO. Though the crash investigation isn’t complete, the location of the wreckage and the altitude of the plane that the time it struck the tower are consistent with a left engine out, and the fallout from asymmetrical thrust.
cecilbdml, if i may ask, how environmentally friendly are the gas stations that leak toxic chemicals into our ground and stormwater, and also contribute to air pollution?
All else equal, an electric motor can yield 99%+ of energy into kinetic, versus 15% for an internal combustion engine. Somehow, I’m convinced that building more power lines might be better for the environment than say, air and water pollution.
Well 100K+ car certainly has little appeal to mass market consumers. But the R&D done to produce an electric car (funded by the 100K+ purchase by the way) will eventually yield a cheaper car as the scale of production (currently VERY small) increases. In addition, newer technologies will displace the technologies that are currently used in the exotic electric auto market, also causing the price of production of these older technologies to drop. Simple principles of R&D and economics.
@sfav8r2: Yeah they got you brainwashed. It’s no problem those of us awake see the crime. You can stay asleep.
Did you know….Tesla employees took suicide mission to kill themselves. Only few millionaires will drive Tesla motors.
Tesla produce another luxury car for rich. Only few of them will drive Tesla. I bet Google founders would drive em.
LOL…. Waste of tax dollars.
